A few days ago, as the biodegradable synthesis equipment with the largest production capacity in China, Dawn's 120,000 tons/year fully biodegradable plastic PBAT project completed the first phase of construction, and would reach the conditions for warming up test run by the end of this month. 

According to reports, Dawn's fully biodegradable plastic PBAT project is mainly engaged in the research and development, production, sales, and application of fully biodegradable plastic PBAT resin. The project is invested and constructed in two phases, and the first phase of the project has started trial production. After reaching full capacity, it can produce 120,000 tons annually of fully biodegradable plastic PBAT resin, with an output value of CNY 2.4 billion and a profit and tax of CNY 300 million. It will solve the labor employment of about 150 people and realize the win-win situation of social, economic and ecological benefits.

"The current traditional products are non-degradable materials, and they will not degrade in nature for 100 years, but will only disintegrate. After disintegration, it will cause serious secondary pollution to nature and the entire biological chain. " Li Zonghua, general manager of Dawn Degradable Materials Company, said that the degradable materials produced by Dawn could be completely degraded into carbon dioxide and water under composted conditions, and would not cause further white pollution to the environment and humans. It is a green and environmentally friendly product.

What are the superior properties of Dawn Biodegradable Plastic (PBAT)? General Manager Li Zonghua said that the product had good extensibility, heat resistance, impact resistance, and excellent biodegradability. It replaces the traditional non-degradable PE, PP, PVC and other materials, and solves the problem of white pollution. "The products are widely used in daily-use film bags, plastic tableware, express packaging, agricultural mulch, medical supplies, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery and other fields."

Talking about the future market prospects, general manager Li Zonghua said that there would be about 10 million tons of disposable traditional plastics that can be replaced. In the next step, Dawn will continue to expand according to market conditions, and build the second and third phases of the project, which can reach a production capacity of 240,000 tons or even 1 million tons.
