From May 8 to 10, Yu Xiaoning, Chairman and President of Dawn Group, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) for exchanges, witnessed the signing of scientific research cooperation agreements, inspected UAV projects, and promoted in-depth university-enterprise collaboration. Zhang Liqun, President of XJTU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Huang Zhongde, Assistant to the President, accompanied the visit.

Tracing Origins, Relocating West, Aiming Far
On the evening of May 8, Chairman Yu Xiaoning visited the XJTU Westward Migration Museum to study and carry forward the "Westward Migration Spirit" of "focusing on the overall situation, selfless dedication, inheriting traditions, and hard work". He experienced the century-old university's journey of building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics by adhering to national strategic needs and deepening industry-university-research integration. On the morning of the 9th, he visited the China Western Science and Technology Innovation Harbor, witnessing the innovative consortium co-constructed by XJTU, local governments, and enterprises.

Strategic Discussions for Win-Win Collaboration
On the afternoon of the 9th, at the symposium, Chen Qingkui, Dean of Dawn Group Research Institute, introduced the company's development, scientific research, and products. Representatives from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, the School of Chemistry, and the School of Aerospace Engineering of XJTU presented the university's academic strengths, research teams, R&D directions, and cooperation models. Both sides discussed products in polymer, new materials, and chemical equipment, aiming to explore collaboration opportunities through a deepened understanding and achieve mutual empowerment.

Signing Milestone for Scientific Research Cooperation
On the morning of May 10, Chairman Yu Xiaoning and Academician Zhang Liqun attended the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Dean's Joint Conference of Aerospace Colleges in Chinese Universities and the 20th Anniversary Development Seminar of XJTU's School of Aerospace Engineering. In the presence of leaders, experts, guests, and faculty-students, Song Huidong, Vice President of Dawn Group, and Shao Jinyou, Executive Deputy Dean of XJTU's Research Institute, signed the Dawn Capital-Xi'an Jiaotong University Scientific Research Cooperation Agreement. This followed President Zhang Liqun's visit to Dawn Group on July 13, 2024, where a cooperation framework agreement was signed to kickstart the university-enterprise partnership.

Exploring Low-Altitude Economy & UAV Innovations
During the visit, Chairman Yu inspected the UAV factory and test base of XJTU's School of Aerospace Engineering, learning about the R&D of high-performance all-electric ducted thrusters and factory construction. The XJTU UAV project, the first in China to propose a new ducted electric thruster model, opens up industrial applications for all-electric, heavy-lift, long-endurance vertical takeoff and landing UAVs in emergency fire rescue, logistics, plateau border material transportation, and urban air mobility (UAM). It aims to secure a strategic high ground in the electric aviation vehicle industry, driving collaborative innovation across the upstream and downstream industries on a nearly trillion-yuan scale.
