A BPA-free Copolyester Material: PCTG Resin
What is PCTG resin?
PCTG is a transparent plastic and an amorphous copolyester. Copolyesters can be classified into four main types: PETG, PCTG, PCTA, and Tritan.
- PETG = PTA + EG + <50% CHDM
- PCTG = PTA + EG + >50% CHDM
- PCTA = PTA + CHDM + PIA
- Tritan = PCTG + CBDO
The primary difference between PCTG and PETG lies in the content of CHDM. When CHDM is less than 50% and ethylene glycol (EG) is more than 50%, it's called PETG. On the other hand, if CHDM exceeds 50% and EG is less than 50%, it's referred to as PCTG.

- PCTG resin has good flow properties, low forming temperatures, and is easy to process.
Superior Impact Strength:
- PCTG extruded sheets are typically 5 to 10 times tougher than standard impact-modified acrylic.
Weather Resistance:
- PCTG resin maintains its physical properties even at high temperatures, making it suitable for applications in high-temperature environments.
Applications of PCTG Resin
Sheets: PCTG resin is widely used for producing transparent sheets and plates due to its high transparency, excellent processability, and strong impact resistance. These materials are suitable for applications such as advertising displays, shelves, and windows.
Water Bottles: PCTG resin is BPA-free, safe, and non-toxic, making it a popular material for producing high-end beverage containers and sports water bottles.
E-cigarette Tubes: Due to its heat resistance, impact resistance, and aesthetic transparency, PCTG resin is often used for producing e-cigarette oil tanks and other related components.
Cosmetic Packaging: The transparency and aesthetics required for cosmetic packaging are very high. PCTG resin not only meets these requirements but also offers good chemical resistance, effectively preventing the corrosion of packaging materials by chemicals in cosmetics.
